Conserving the Pascagoula River Watershed:Conservation Action Plan

May 15th, 2009

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and the Pascagoula River Basin Alliance have conducted conservation planning exercises in the basin since early 2000. In 2005 as part of the Southeastern Aquatic Resource Partnership (SARP) pilot rivers project, TNC led new workshops to update and refine the Conservation Action Plan to protect and restore the desirable ecological functions of this complex river. The results, reported in this document, include the aquatic system conservation targets, the threats to aquatic system target health, the conservation objectives and strategies, and a planning challenges in light of recent hurricanes.
