Inter-jurisdictional Fisheries

Inter-jurisdictional fisheries are populations of finfish, mollusks, crustaceans, and other forms of marine animal or plant life (except marine mammals and birds) occurring in or migrating between waters under the jurisdiction of two or more states.  To protect, conserve and restore interjurisdictional fisheries in the Southeast, SARP projects will

  • Support efforts for managing fisheries developed and adopted by an interstate commission
  • Encourage adaptive management for monitoring, evaluating and modifying fishery management plans
