Each state is responsible for the conservation and sustainability of public waters and living resources within its political boundaries. However, no single entity can do it all. As partners, state and federal agencies, private landowners, non-governmental organizations and even local governments are restoring and conserving aquatic habitats. Although these individual efforts are reported by state, they are all conducted according to the partnership mission: with partners, to protect, conserve and restore aquatic resources, including habitats, throughout the Southeast for the continuing benefit, use and enjoyment of the American people.
